Parkview boys, Seckinger girls win Need for Speed track and field championships

The Parkview boys and Seckinger girls won the team titles at Friday’s Williams & Williams Law Firm Need for Speed XVII track and field meet.

Parkview won the boys division with 100 points, Jackson County was second at 76, Seckinger was third at 68.5, Norcross took fourth at 67 and fifth place was a tie between Greater Atlanta Christian and Lanier.

Seckinger’s girls scored 85 points to hold off runner-up Parkview’s 81. GAC’s girls were third at 77.

Local event winners in the meet were as follows:

Boys 60-meter dash: Gavin Wallace, Lanier, 7.06 seconds

Girls 100: Ciara Hamlin, Seckinger, 12.83

Boys 100: Jeremiah Roberts, Parkview, 11.14

Girls 200: Jaylyn Johnson, Seckinger, 25.20

Boys 200: Jon Tongren, GAC, 22.32

Boys 300: Mykalen Minor, Parkview, 35.05

Girls pole vault: Piper Atwood, Parkview, 11 feet, 2 inches

Boys pole vault: Harrison Kyle, Norcross, 15-5 1/2

Girls long jump: Ciara Hamlin, Seckinger, 16-9

Girls triple jump: Ciara Hamlin, Seckinger, 35-2 1/2

Boys triple jump: Antonio Neal, Seckinger, 43-9 3/4

Girls shot put: Ivey Nemorin, GAC, 32-7 1/2
